May seem silly question but this is my first 24v system...when Im charging flat batteries, or jump starting the vehicle from another, which of the batteries - and which terminals - do I connect the leads to?
ie Pos and Neg both on drivers side battery, or Pos on drivers side and Neg on passengers side...?

for charging a 24v system from an external source, i usually use a parallel 12v setup, as it charges both batteries equally.
for jump starting, do you only have a 12volt source? if so, just just put it on one battery.

I have heard that works for some (If your batters still have a little charge) But i know when i left the lights on my 70 series curiser on

just take one off the batterys out at a time for charging if youve only got a simple 12v charger

If you want 24v then drivers + and passengers -. If you want 12v, then + and - from the same battery but don't ground the -. ie if you do drivers side + and ground the - anywhere on the truck then it is 24v not 12v.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.

It's in sparkies at the mo to fix up some real cowboy wiring it's had done in past, and theyve identified why batts going flat, due to how stereo was wired up...so hopefully all good now!
I did notice that I could have left charger on driver side batt for days and it would still be dead at the key, but put charger on passenger side batt and after couple of hours she's fulla life at the key even if drivers side is still dead.
Does this technical scientific discovery mean only one battery starts it? Starter motor 12v???

Sorry to jump on someones elses thread, but kinda related. In theory at least if you connected 2 batteries together in parallel with jumper leads, they should equalize each other over some time. So if you then connected a good charger to this setup as mentioned earlier shouldnt the batteries end up equally charged? Correct me if im wrong just trying to work out how to make sure mine are charged equally as the low side battery keeps ending up lower that the high side. (No 12v accessories are center tapped off the 12v side). Want to try this before relegating batteries to the rubbish pile

You need to put a good 12v charger on to each battery seperatly. Try over night and then see if they hold the charge. Or just take it to a GOOD sparkie to get them tested.

Thanks yeah I thought that. Only gave the low one a bit of a boost last time i charged it. Will have to give them both a good overnight charging. Tested before high side is 12.5v low side is 10.7v. Have been put on a digital load tester separately and both OK right to rated capacity.
