waterproofing 1-uz's?

Post by mfrsr »

searched forums, didn't turn up much. Lextreme.com wasn't much use :)

does anyone have some suggestions for what i can do to waterproof my 1uz? My one proper trip with the ol' bitch taught me that these motors don't like muddy water.

I've finally got enough money together to replace the headgaskets (been 2 years in storage :( ), now i need to decide whether i can get away with doing them in place or if i'm gonna have to pull the engine out.

If someone can give me some pointers on what i can do to seal this engine up a bit better that'd be great. There's so many big gaps behind the cam covers etc that i'd probably have to pump in 30-40psi to keep water out

cheers guys
