Lifting a Surf, is there a cheap way?

don't have the money to spend on a lift kit, can anyone give me some idea of where (other vehicles) to look for a taller set of rear coils and shocks? Front isn't a problem - torsion bars

Not aiming for a figure for the lift, tho something more than 2inches would be nice. I've already got an adjustable panhard rod.

Surely there's someone who hasn't just gone and bought a kit?

80 series springs. And yea don't bother with 2 inch lift shocks because they are the same length as pretty much all of the after market standard replacement shocks that your truck probably already has in it unless it happens to have the origanal toyota shocks in the rear?

yeah truck is dead stock at the mo - adjustable panhard rod is off a truck i worked on a few years ago

it's got the factory shocks in it, and the electric adjustment still works on all of them. Never seen that before...

take the sway bars out if you want more flex in the suspenion

done and gone. along with all the dressup shit like flares and bumpers. Lifted the back 2 inches just by taking off the towbar

shesh twecking 2inches out of your torsion bar is prettyyyyyy dodgey... from my experience with surfs, is keep it low as possible, jsut so your wheels clear the gaurds when you flex axel... they are extremely unsturdy vehicles on and offroad when you start lifting them, especialy if you remove the sway bar

i don't think you realise just how little 2 inches is.

The reason why i want to lift it is to get clearance for a set of 32"s. They bind in the guards on full travel. I don't see the point of having a truck that'll flex but only get half steering lock when the wheels are in the guards.
