I have one of the Ford GPW's. A 44 I think. Been in the family for 50 years at a guess. Its my next project once I finish the sj. Only pics I have are shitty polaroids haha.

It ain't a jeep if its not an MB or gpw :lol: :lol:

im tryng to convince myself the high hoods are cool... so much more available.

Doug, does yours have the recessed headlights?

ps, its def not a jeep if its made by marinda (spelling) :lol:

Yeah I think it might be a recessed headlight model. Mines almost totally original except for paint, fuel filler position and the exhaust manifold. Will be a restoration job. Not an offroader. They are worth too much.

Did the nz army ever have jeeps? Guessing not or there would be way more around?

Yes, NZ army did have a few MB Jeeps until the Land Rover came along around 1951. There are a couple of old war time jeeps in the NZ Army Museum collection at Waiouru.

Plus in private collections as you see them at war birds over wanaka and the ww1 vintage planes at Blenheim.

Yeah theres a few of them in the war vehicle club thing round here. Have pneumatic machineguns even :lol:
