Buying a portable air compressor

Hi guys,

I am looking at buying a portable air compressor for around the $200 mark. I wanted it to come with a bag/case for easy transportation.
I was wondering if any body had any recommendations on a good compressor.

i have a repco one was about $80 or something and would not recommend it. they have a thermal overload, and can only be run for about 7 minutes or something before turning itself off and needing a 15 min rest, you probably wouldnt even pump up 2 35's with that. i cant even do 4 30's from 15 psi to 35psi without a few rests.

Altho i went back and told them i wasnt happy and they upgraded me to the next model up for free and told me if i still wasnt happy they would refund it, so i cant fault their service.

Anyone know how much condensation these types of pumps put into the tyres? I'm using an ARB compressor and tubes, and I'm worried that my tubes are getting more and more water in them...

anything less is just slow. anything thats really slow, unless 100% duty cycle, can run into problems with them overheating before your finished.

forget about what the advertised flow rate is, no pump reports true figures. the above pump (150lpm) is actually very close (slightly less) to ARB pump in speed (75lpm).
i have the projecta version of it which i had to mod. by the time i modded it and wired it the price is just about the same as ARB, and the ARB is a far better kit.
most of the cheap ones won't handle high pressure so only ok for tires.

Yes i noticed that too...id be wary of using someone who is trying to "copy" someone elses brand.

yes thats off the sidewinder ABR site. testing was done by one of the assuie 4x4 mags at ARB's test lab. the whole article is online somewhere.
they do test ARB as well as ABR
