thats cool I'm in the tararua so its not far from me to be able to participate, and im sure I can have the truck up to it by then :) its a landy, so, bound to snap an axle or something when u least expect it.. can still crawl out on the front wheels with a bit of assistance tho ;)

obviously wouldnt wanna take the spot of someone and then back out at the last minute, which is why i said I could confirm in 7 days, if i commit then im committed 100% and unless something unforseen comes up I will be there..

I've got deep mud tread all round 32x11.5's

I've got a motorola PRS radio, and recovery gear sorta, dont have a hi-lift jack thats next on the list to buy... might get one for xmas if i've been a good boy ;)

feel free to drop me a PM I'd be keen on a bit of a trial run somewhere local one weekend :)

If you read the thread you would have found this....

suzuki1k wrote:How does this sound...

Sutherlands track and overnighter

Looking at running a trip through the Sutherlands track with an over nighter on a members property (Mudnutz & family, camping in tents/trucks) that is out that way as well, Tuturumuri, Tora/White Rock area.

I am looking at trying to get access through White Rock area, there will be a charge for both Sutherlands and White Rock but I am unsure at the moment.

You will need to be fully self sufficient food/drink wise. There is a school next to the camping area and for a small fee we could use the pool if the interest is there (it's not a deep pool about 3 foot deep, good for kids). There is also a mud bog on the camping property that we could have mud runs through (by foot not truck as it is over 2 meters deep) for a bit of fun.

There will be a limited number of spots for this trip so if you want to put your name down, please ensure that you are able to make it 20 places only! There are already 3 spots taken.

Looking at 15 - 16 January 2011.

Normal safety equipment will be needed as per all of our trips, if you need a list of the items, please let me know.

Cheers

Right, just so we all know.. we will be meeting at the Mobil Gas Station in Featherston on Saturday 15th at 9:00am leaving there at 9:30am sharp!

As for gas stations, this will be the last stop until after the Sutherlands track, shouldn't use that much petrol though, it's about 30 kms long?? (never really checked the length of it).

Add your name to the list if you are coming... remember that you will need to bring your lunch and tea if you are staying for the night will try to ensure that there is a BBQ there for everyone to use.

BBQ's on site. Plenty of room for tents, bring plenty of tent pegs cause it can blow! It hasnt rained for a while so water is precious so if you can handle not showering it would be appreciated, however if it becomes nessessary there is a spot we can scoop the bog weed and duck shit away for you... its not that bad. As for fuel it might pay to carry a can with you cause theres none till back at martinborough on the way home. Plenty of sun block to cause its been bloody hot!

Also, remember to bring your own drinking water and water for coffee's ect ect, I will have 20 liters with me for all to use.

Bring fishing rods/dive gear as we may pop down to the beach for a fish/dive.

Think that is it for now...
