Starter motor, 8v and 16v the same?

Post by daymo »

Got a buggered g16a 8v solenoid, but starter motor otherwise fine. just wondering if the g16a 8v and 16v take the same starter motors or if I need to get an 8v specific one.

Thanks, but mine aint that easy to see through the muck.

or is it just the heads that are different, ie could I bolt a 16v head straight onto my 8v block for more power etc, meaning the starter motors are the same?

as far as I know you cant just swap the heads over,

and i am sure the starters are the same, I have swapped mine once before, It used to be a long skinny one and now it is a short fat one, never had a problem so far. Not sure what it came off though
