Water Temp sender Location

Water Temp sender Location

Hey I bought a cheapo autogauge from repco but when I went to fit it the thread didnt match.
So I can;
try find an adapter
mount a SCARLES in the radiator top hose
mount one in the bottom hose
Or if anyone has another idea?

The beauty of the SCARLES is I can keep the factory gauge working.

I know someone has told me its for acurate to mount the sender in the top or the bottom or the heater... not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think the top hose is the place to go bud.

id recommend removing the original sender and fit adaptor then new sender,the factory gauge is useless and tells you nothing till its too late,if you go to an engineering shop the have the adaptors,what motor do you have?its probably a m18x1.5 to 1/8 bspt adaptor your after mate,easy install and you'll be happy with the results

swb lux with 7mge, trailgear crossover, trailgear rear lift kit, custom front bar, runva 1200lb winch, custom snorkel, 37" Mtrs, custom deck, lockright in the rear.

i went to auto zone and got a reducer of the shelf for mine

I got an in line adapter for the top hose from super cheap, works mint.

good point mate, I know my 3ye had 2,1 for ecu and 1 specifically for dash gauge only

They are normally two different units, the one the ecu needs to run the engine propally is a sensor unit and the temp gauge one is a sendor unit. :)

Ok I got that sender unit in but now I have the trouble of wiring it up. I know about a few bits and pieces so thought it'd be easy enough but with a really shit wiring diagram with it I'm stuck. It doesnt seem to read at all and the light on it goes when the lights are off but as soon as you turn them on the light goes out.....

Is there anyone in Te Awamutu area that would be able to have a look at it or maybe someone who has done it can give me a step by step?
