how did you get it to run in full automatic ?
the ecu is not very tolerent of been sent a incorrect rotational signal from the auto.... most people turn the output flange into a encoder with a proxy sensor to get around the issue of it putting them into limp mode

Sorry, I do know how the guy wired it up, but cannot tell as it was one of his business secrets, for his conversions.

well the encoder is normally how Phil Bradshaw (SpeedTech) does it .
or is it a secret who did your wiring as well

no but you told someone you just changed some plugs over .. and it worked .... now your saying its a secret as to how you did it

considering you have such horrific gas consumption .. i was just interested as getting this wrong can put you in limp mode and give you this exact symptom

the other option is modding the spd signal from the dash ... ... but then that dont work in low ratio

Guess you will just have to do the legwork like Madaz did then vvega.

The joy of a forum is that you don't have to divulge everything if you don't want too, best to keep em guessing sometimes, especially when it may have taken you a shit load of trial and error to work something out, and you don't see the need to just give that info away. And I don't even know what you guys are on about as my old 700r auto is the last one before GM went electronic  :P

Hey Vvega, I told him roughly what we did to get it to get it to work and that it can be made to work.
As for gas consumption thats been sorted a long time ago.

If you dont like the answers Ive posted, #### off and post your comments on a different thread

Curious.. but was it the C/S injector being left on? as I had an issue that was similar..
Don't let the cat out of the bag.. there are some things being left unsaid..Just I know Kelvin as he helped me with a couple things over the phone.. great guy and I'm going to be switching to auto with the LJ78 auto and was really keen on any hickups that you have had.. but like I said it's cool as i'll find out one way or another..

Here is my build up if any of you are curious.

Keep cool and be safe..Merry Xmas an all that shyte...cheers

there are no secrets with lexus conversions .. just ring phil and ask he will tell you straight off the bat , ive known him since about 2001 and hes always been very open with info and help
hence why i though the secret thing a bit odd ... considering he has always been about sharing info
but looking back through madaz's posts his was done the spd method .. somthing that he was very open about ... sadly it is now a secret... apprently
Madaz wrote:The guy who wired up my Lexus managed to wire up the Prado Auto to the factory v8 computer and get it shifting automatically with the option of manualised shift ,all he used was a LN series surf dash speed sensor.

I don't understand this.

Vvega has few secrets and goes out of his way to help people with anything he can help with (he fixes peoples cars time and time again and asks little in return and is a great source of information I have seen it plenty)

The trans issue was no secret as it was earlier on in the thread.

Why was it made to sound like a secret? Just to be difficult, Tim?

nathan ... just leave it its not the time or the place
tims truck is awesome hes put a lot of work into it and in return hes got a fantastic machine ... lets leave the personal shit out of the threed and keep it about the truck

if you read back in my build threed this truck is the sole reason i started my build

It wasnt made to sound difficult Nathan, but it was showing some respect to Phil who wired my truck up.
When I payed him to do it he didnt expect me to pull down the wiring and put up all his little tricks on the net did he?

 Maybe more time working on you truck and less time playing the keyboard hero in everyones build threads would be a better way to spend your spare time?

I must agree with what guys are saying.. personal shyt should be left at the door(so to speak)
We are all endevouring to have the Ultimate truck and as i'm now changing to auto having been there done that with the manual thing, it'll be a challenge to get the auto to shift properly as a Auto and also trick the auto to manual mode with lockup..
I'm sorry for asking too many questions..(just my nature,besides.. it's how you learn) and starting all the secret squirrill war thing.. :(
Have a great Xmas break with freinds and family..
