Compared with what I had before its about a foot better.
This is my first and wouldn't mind reading some feedback from users.

Interested in hearing all the good.. or bad things about them..
Post pics of them in action too if you want.
Cheers

I find it has plenty of room....i can even sleep in the back & considering my a tall bastard thats great.
Its quiet on road & has a great heater.
Is lite weight so doesnt sink down too much in mud etc.

Guttless (Stick your boot up it)
Need big mods to fit bigger than 31" tyres (They go anywhere on 31's)
Stiff "commercial load carrying work horse" orientated suspension, as opposed to off road orientated suspension (Awesome work horse)
Horrible bench seat in the front (Great bench seats allows more passengers that you can scare the sh!t out of)
Noisy in the cab (cause your thrashing the gutless 2.8 in the red all the time) (powerful and reliable engine
)
Gear box cross member hangs down in the middle of the truck and you get hung up on it ALL the time (Go faster batman)
Steering system is weak and dangerous and doesn't react well to suspension modifications to fit bigger tyres (Steering is overrated anyhow

Wheel base is to long for most tight NZ bush tracks(long wheel base is great for hauling big loads)
The well side deck over hangs the rear axle by miles and you get hung up on it all the time (Super big deck to store all your goodies (and small children))
Really fawkin expensive co's people rate them for some strange reason (Tried and trusted reliable workhorse that won't let you down when the tough gets going)

Other than that, they are an awesome Utility Vehicle which thousands of NZ farmers and contractors swear by, and the 4WD ones are great for getting accross that slippery paddock to check the cows, or to get off the building site after a shower of rain![]()

Guttless Fixed with the rebuilt 2.8 TD
Need big mods to fit bigger than 31" tyres Not sure but its on 33's and havnt had a problem
Stiff "commercial load carrying work horse" orientated suspension, as opposed to off road orientated suspension Suspensions been done.
Horrible bench seat in the front Good memories of the bench seats
Noisy in the cab (cause your thrashing the gutless 2.8 in the red all the time) Cant hear the engine for the noise from the tires
Gear box cross member hangs down in the middle of the truck and you get hung up on it ALL the time Read something about a low profile cross member.. might make me one
Steering system is weak and dangerous and doesn't react well to suspension modifications to fit bigger tyres Cant comment on this one... seems fine for now
Wheel base is to long for most tight NZ bush tracks Good for river crossing though ?
The well side deck over hangs the rear axle by miles and you get hung up on it all the time Did a bit of photoshop to see how it would look without it.. haha.. think I'll live with it
Really fawkin expensive co's people rate them for some strange reason Yep.. I got a good deal though eh

Need big mods to fit bigger than 31" tyres mine had 33's with minimal mods
Stiff "commercial load carrying work horse" orientated suspension, as opposed to off road orientated suspension take a leaf out!
Horrible bench seat in the front mine came with buckets
Noisy in the cab (cause your thrashing the gutless 2.8 in the red all the time) mines quiet (sr5 =carpet) and its petrol.
Gear box cross member hangs down in the middle of the truck and you get hung up on it ALL the time only been caught on mine once, stupid arse boulder

Steering system is weak and dangerous and doesn't react well to suspension modifications to fit bigger tyres mine never broke
Wheel base is to long for most tight NZ bush tracks not the factory SWB

The well side deck over hangs the rear axle by miles and you get hung up on it all the time only 10 minutes with a grinder to fix that (and 3 hours with a welder to make it look good again)

Another newbie that knows everything, yet can't tell a surf from a hilux!![]()

The 2.8 is more than enough for a lightweight hilux it will get bad when moveing up to the likes of 33s but can be fixed with turbo/rebuild
Need big mods to fit bgger than 31" tyres
A lux on 31s has aroud the same clearence as cruisers/safaris on 33s due to the 8inch diffs. Saying that is not very hard it all to do some minor modifactions to fit 33s
Stiff "commercial load carrying work horse" orientated suspension, as opposed to off road orientated suspensionThis is true but can be modified, The average person wouldnt max out the flex all that much anyway
Horrible bench seat in the front
Whats wrong with the bench seat? Ever cruised in an old ford, holden, chev, ectFor ''Hard'' 4WDing a bucket seat or other would be better.
Noisy in the cab (cause your thrashing the gutless 2.8 in the red all the time)
Sure its not too bad, About the same as any old 4wd of that age. Thats what radios are for.
Gear box cross member hangs down in the middle of the truck and you get hung up on it ALL the time
It wont get you hung up ALL the time but it does stick out a bit
Steering system is weak and dangerous and doesn't react well to suspension modifications to fit bigger tyres
I do hate the "push pull" operation of the lux steering, ok with 33 ect.. Anything bigger best to modify
Wheel base is to long for most tight NZ bush tracks
Have a read of bulletproofs hilux specs that will tell you about wheelbase and overhang, Good read.
The well side deck over hangs the rear axle by miles and you get hung up on it all the time
As above
Really fawkin expensive co's people rate them for some strange reason
Must be a reason for thisExclent 4WDS.
A surf is a hilux!!
