Hi all.

Which vehicle years/model etc have the rear upper A arm?

Do all landrovers have this style rear suspension?

Does the rear ball joint ever give any trouble or run out of movement?

Generally speaking the A arms were fitted to;
All Classic Range Rovers from 1970 through to 1994.
All coil spring LR 90/110's (Defenders) from 1984 onwards.
All S1 Discovery's from 1989 through to 1999.

The early RR also had a self energising Boge ride leveling unit fitted as did some of the early 110 station wagons.

The ball joint doesn't seem to run out of movement and lasts as long if not longer than normal ball joints. Just ensure it is seated properly and tightened correctly so it does slope or wear the taper.

Can you tell me if there are differences between the arms as far as length and distance between the forward bushes?

Only diagram i can find is of the self leveling arm- the other arms appear to be the same but just without that extra appendage hanging off near the ball joint?

All of the arms are basically the same length. They bolt to a 'block' that the ball joint is pressed into. It is only this block that differs between the vehicles due to the leveling unit and it is easy enough to cut off the extra bit for the self leveling unit.

Reckon you could give me a measurement from the centre of the ball joint to the centre of pivot at the other end of the bar? (between the two forward ends.)
