yes i agree with pedro got one 2'' is fine the rest the formers are to tight 1 1/4 got away with the bends, 1/2 '' was a joke

hi hope im not jacking the thread here but i have some pipe that is 48.3mm od and 41 inside what former would be suited to this one? the guys ate steel and tube said that this was 1.5inch pipe as thats aparantly what size my mates former is. so really i want to know is a 2inch former for a 2 inch nb or od.

40NB is 1.5" NB in old terms, and yes the od is 48.3mm,
50NB is 2" and 63.5 OD i think
pipe is measured ID,
Tube is measured OD

Re: 12,000kg Pipe Bender from Supercheap
I used one of those cheap pipe kinkers to build my roll cage an bars on my old 40. They eventually came out ok but it can be hard to get a consistant bend without kinking it. If youve got spare pipe an some patience theyre ok but I bought a pro tools #105 tube bender, cost heaps but well worth it IMO

Have used one of these attempting to make some sliders. HAd two different thickness 2" pipe. the thick wall bent up no probs but the thin wall kinked the every time

cheers for the thoughts. So pretty much they seem ok if wall thick but apart from that get what you pay for.
given sale doesn't start until boxing day there is a bit of time to look around.

Tape off one end of the pipe you are bending, fit it with compacted wet sand, tape off the other end and then bend. It reduces the amount of kinking you get.
I have had one for ages, and they are okay, but not brilliant. I am doing my exo early next year and have grabbed my mates bender from his engineering shop to do it, if that tells you anything

if you are bending "black" pipe i would be giving it a little preheat to reduce the chances of kinking
