Another Canadian here. Looking forward to visting soon.

Post by Pyroboy »

Hi,

My name is Sean and I live in BC, Canada. I usually visit a local site http://www.bc4x4.com and the forums there http://bb.bc4x4.com

I wheel a 1989 Toyota 4Runner (Hilux Surf) that I bought new. It has 476,000 km on it now and is mildly modified. It has a 1" body lift, 2" OME lift (still has the stock front IFS), 4.56 gears, ARB rear air locker and bull bar and a Marlin Crawler twin-stick in the t-case. The engine is the stock 22RE 2.4 l petrol engine. All original except for the timing set, oil pump and water pump.

I have a solid front axle for it and a second t-case. This winter I will be adding a rock sliders, a Trail-Gear 3-link solid axle swap kit and a Marlin Crawler dual t-case adapter, and maybe 4.7 gears in the rear case. Will post some pictures once I learn how. I just picked up some good used 36" x 12.5 Super Swampers too.

I will be visiting realives in the Richmond / Nelson area December 27th to January 15th. If anyone will be wheeling in the area in that time, I'd love to tag along or just meet up to compare vehicles and off-roading in general.

Thanks to DMcCready for sending me the link to your great site!

Sean

Welcome to the site. Best way is to host your pics on photobucket or similar and copy the image url to post it up.

Will be over in Nelson myself early January, but will be doing more Mountain biking than driving unfortunately

Great town for biking, that's for sure. You'll have a blast 8)

The one video I posted of "Castlegar" is about a 5 minute drive from Nelson 8)

Welcome to the site to both of you Canadian boys.

From what my mates tell me there are some awesome big trucks in Canada. I'm a big fan of White Knight and have bought a few of their DVDs.

PS. Either of you guys have room in your luggage to bring a 39.5" Bogger over for me????

Thanks, everyone!

I have been checking out the photos and videos on the sites. Have seen some neat rigs and great trails. I will check back over my trip to see if anyone will be out in the Richmond area.

Thanks, Kevin.

I contacted Sam with the club and planned to meet up with him at some point in my trip. Will see how things work out.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good 4WD disantler / wrecker in the Nelson area. I am looking for the upper dash pod / console for a '84-'89 Hilux/Surf, with the compass, altimeter and inclinometer, preferably in grey. They seem to be rare in CDN trucks and would be neat to have one.

Thanks.

12 Quarantine road Stoke Nelson, ( near the airport)

they will most likely have what you are after but not usually very cheap.
For the 60/61 series or the 130? I may have one for the 130 series

Thanks!

I checked them out today but they are closed until tomorrow so I will go back. My truck is an RN61LV-MDEK. What are those consoles worth?
