As title suggests, one of my mates has got another p38 4.6 as his original one has just got too bad.. dropped a sleeve we think.
anyway he has go a new one(second hand) and we ripped it out last weekend and swapped everything over test book..
tried to start the ol girl and nada..? just fills the pots with fuel and gives the starter motor a good workout.. checked and replace the CKP sensor as it was fubard.. and still nothing BUT sounds like it will start..
Thing is does the CKP sensor need to be re-calibrated as the SM states this?
Is there anything esle that we could look at..?missed?
Been stuck in my garage now for over a week and I want it gone..lol.
BTW he's away for a few days so would be nice to have it running by the time he gets back..
Any feedback would be great.. cheers

Re: 4.6 P38 engine swap
how much fuel has been pumped into the engine
check your oil level if it is quite high smell the oil it may have been contaminated by the fuel running down the cylinders if it has a strong petrol smell you need to change the oil the thinned oil affects the compression and doesn't do good things to bearings and rings i have learnt this the hard way

Re: 4.6 P38 engine swap
Have you re entered the immobilizer code into the central processor to clear the immobilizer mode? I think the lock unlock action using the key fob should achieve this also.
