Best tyres for off road only west coast mud!

Post by peach »

OK I have a 15' (10' wide) wheeled hilux ute and need some tyres.

The ute will be used on a farm only, mainly waterlogged paddocks and deep muddy tracks - no or very little gravel.

Recommendations please!!!

hey mate, some of these would be good, only problem is they're on 16" rims:

Is your ute standard height?

Depending on your budget i would say Simex or silverstones.
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.

Simex / Silverstone offer great traction / digging power.
I can see you digging trenches across your "water logged" paddocks...

They would work fine in the deep mud tracks..

IMHO you probably want a flotation style tyre as not to dig up the place. There are numerous agricultural tyres around that I am sure will do.

Any farmers out there in the forum..

The Simex's look good, but might did holes (I'm already an expert at that!)

Good call, we have very boggy forest roads (no gravel ever laid) and water logged paddocks.

Anyone in Westport with a spare set?!!

The Kleber or the boggers look like the way to go, cheers for the input!
