i know i own a toyota, but
i under stand the land rover mk 3 has a compressor that run the air shocks at 200 psi when set to road.
i,ve been told they will work good as a compressor just need a tank.
well were would one find a good second hand unit.
close to chch would be grat but now that i've seen one ill ship it.

air supension compressor
Re: air supension compressor
As its only used for suspension i doubt it would flow a very high volume of air.... would be prudent to check this out before getting one.
Re: air supension compressor
has a flow rate of about 0.96 cfm at low pressure, and according to justcompressor.com it can fill a 3 gallon tank from 0 to 150 psi in 4 minutes 45 seconds.
It is commonly used by low rider fans to pump up their vehicles. It has to keep the 10 liter (2.5 gallon)
Range Rover air tank charged up to 10 bar (150 psi),
which is a much higher pressure than most off-road air compressers can reach. The compressor also has a much harder life than the average air compressor, having to operate in hot under-the-hood conditions (it is rated at 158 degrees ambient) for hundreds of hours rather than a few minutes at a time

Re: air supension compressor
You might want to check what model you need the compressor from as there is no 'mk3' model. A series 3 definitely doesn't have air suspension but a Discovery 3 does... I don't think there is a particular Range Rover model '3' but air suspension was at least an option from around 92 in the classics. You are probably more likely to find one from a P38 which is a 94 onwards. I couldn't tell you if one would meet those specs in your post, will see if Dad has a book on them...

My recon Rangie pumpis inside behind the right rear trim panel and the tank sits out side strapped to the where the dickie seat normaly goes. From there i have plumbed the Disco right through for the truck horns, pumping tyres etc, I can give you my olf frined's name as we used to work for Land Rover and he still does a bit of mobile work and lives in Marshlands. He has a few lying around in various states of repair but can get the kits from the US quite cheap and has one in stock too when i was there 2 weeks ago.
