This is the first time my boy has driven my V8 buggy.
Actually the first time he's driven ANY V8!!

Suspension works nice and that auto is smoooooth too.

He's 12 Heath. But i want him to know how to drive before he reaches 15-16 or what ever the age will be. If he wants to do donuts and smoke tires? I've told him he can. But ONLY in a controlled environment. I'm very strict on that....
I'm hoping that will make him think, if he wants to burn rubber? He won't on public roads because he may loose his license, to say the very least.

Today I had him driving it again. This time he's getting used to shifting the stick. The auto side of the auto has been disabled so it's a manual shifter only.
I thought he did real well.

A championship driver in the making

saw you guys out there this afternoon. I was surprised when I saw who was driving (well how young) and impressed how he seemed to instinctively pull left when he came upon us as we were leaving (I had the kids out there playing with their new fishing rods - in the Prado).

He's bound to stuff up at some stage but, he's lucky because he's done plenty of quad bike hours to give him an idea on what to do. The only reason he's behind the wheel is, because he's a sensible rider/driver. (so far)

For a Dad. It's a buzz to have your 13yr old son drive your off road buggy and do it well.

i wanna teach my daughter to drive my thing.. hmmm.. rover or fawdy..

not being a v8 and being in low low, she couldnt possibly get into too much trouble.. but the rover bein auto would be easier.. scarier, but easier.. lol

They are great moments nibs. (your daughter will LOVE it) But like a friend pointed out. The road next to the river that we were on is a public one. So I do have to be careful. And I guess it's not a good look for me letting my son drive on a public road.
I was on the gravel road near the boat ramp next to the Waimac before they did all the changes and got pulled up by a cop. He asked me where is my Reg n wof for the quad was. Then went on to tell me he could of issued me a ticket.

Yeah the auto in the buggy has been purposely setup like that nibs.

Hey in low low would be lower gearing than mine. But I bet if they stick it in top gear it'll still be fast enough to do damage if you're not on to them.
When I let my boy hoon round bros track. Both of us are in full communication. I normally sit down close to the track and watch. I talk to him via the coms in the helmets. Yeah while I'm sitting down I'm wearing the coms helmet. Looks funny but works a treat.
