I have also posted this in the Isuzu section as it fits into both categories.
Can anyone please advise the best mounting for tow hooks on the back of my 1989 LWB Bighorn.
What I need to know from those who have had to utilise them in the past is whether I need two on the back or is a centre mounted single OK?
Also I have one rated hook at the R/H front is there a need for hooks both sides?
Hopefully it doesn’t sound like I intend to get stuck, but I would like the opinion of those who have been there before.
I have included a link to a photo of the rear setup on mine so if you need to know what’s there now it’s available.

Hi, I think there are both pros and cons with where you mount your tow hooks, depending on what side of the fence you sit on.
I have 2 hooks on the front and just one on the back (r/h side of towbar),, but am looking at getting an extra one for the rear soon. I just have to modify the exaust first.
Another mod im thinking of is to replace the existing tow-bar with an eastcoast one, these have the removable tow-ball tounge, and have a replaceable hook to go in its place, this would give me 3 attachments on the back.

Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

A bit of info i picked up from an earlier post. You may want to think about either, another hook on the front, or shifting your existing one. When a strap breaks (happens more often than you'd like) if it is hooked to the r/h side it can rebound back and guess who sits on the r/h side?? At least if its hooked to the left you can eject your passenger for safety.
