94 Bighorn auto tranny computer

Post by drtylilman »

Hi guys,

My wife bighorn's auto has been acting up. Its holding gears too long, not kicking back basically running like crap. Have had it in the tranny shop and the did a full service, new oil filter etc. They said theres nothing else wrong with it even though it still doesn't change gears properly.

I'm thinking of swapping out the computer to see if that makes a difference. Does anyone know if tranny computer is separate or part of the ecu in these trucks and does anyone have one for sale?

Cheers
Eddie

The ECU for the tranny may have capacitors that are leaking.
Once you find it....

the auto ecu should be next to your brake pedal.
it uses the the same bracket that holds the clutch pedal if it was manual.
where in NZ are you i might have one around
