A15 Datsun Clutch wont engage.

Post by Nz Zuki »

Howsit everyone im running a A15 datsun 1600 motor and a 4 speed manual box in my suzuki sj410 and i used to be able to get the clutch to engage, recently replaced the clutch realease bearing or spiggot bearing as they say? and now i find that the bearing isnt pushing the pressure plate right in. like i cant get the clutch leaver to go all the way in.

Anyone know anythng that might help me out? its a bit frustrating! cheers!

1: your clutch plate is around the wrong way

2: the clutch fork is not seated on its pivot point properly

3: the pressure plate prongs are not strong enough

4: the master cylinder on vehicle is not large enough to fully thrust slave from donor gearbox forward/back/sideways enough to disengage/ engage the clutch when you first did the transplant.

Now with a new parts you may need to make an adjustment rod to go between the slave and the clutch fork.

could be many things
