Hi
We are in the process (all but completed) of rebuilding our winch bar etc and figure while at it I will change from the roller Fairlead that is on there.
There appears to be a lot of different types floating around and wonder if anyone has any opinions / thoughts.
The mounting for the fairlead is the flat steel that the winch is on so will need to build some sort of vertical mounts to bolt it to, and therefore did like the look of these as it would make the mounting point lower

There are also a lot of standard ones

Euan has also advised Autokraft sell one as well which I assume is similar to the above??

Been down this road before.
Pics help us see what you up to
I have mounted my winch on the inner bar vertical plate too, as this means the bolts are just there to hold it in place and it doesn't rely on the bolts shear strength.
When I came to up-date to alloy fair-lead, this is what I did.
Got a 4wd Bits one (the last on your list) and did it like this.
You have to get the centre line of the cut out to just below the centre line of the winch drum. I marked it all and drilled a counter bore hole in the back to accommodate the lower winch mount bolts.
When this was done, i drilled the fair-lead holes right through the winch bar and into the winch housings. Tap these holes and bolt together
Pics speak a thousand words.

Is this what you mean?
See the holes at the bottom, have the counter-bore behind.
Or go for the Tigerz 11 one, it is already off set.

I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

Yeah thought about that when I was typing but didn't have any photos and have removed winch etc to finish bars so can't take photo of what I have.
It is similar to what Murray has done and therefore don't have a big chunk of metal in front of the winch.

Yeah. I think we're on the same track. Same winch as me too. only differance I can see is that you guys have bolted your winch from underneath. It was much simpler to bolt from the front. The only down side is, the free-wheel clutch handle is inside the grill because you can't rotate the housings on Runvas.
That's what the big cut out in the grill is for, to get your hand in there to release it
Cheers,
