8 and 16 valve suzuki engines

Post by Escudo-boy »

Hi , Ive just brought a 90' Escudo. It has a G16A 16v engine in it at the moment with a blown cylinder head. I have also just brought another engine but its the 8 valve G16A(both are injected). Aside of the valves, is there any major difference between the two? Would I be better off swaping the heads over or just transplant the whole engine over?

Thanks for any help ,Paul

Yeah you should be able to swap the heads as the engine blocks are the same, check out the forums at http://www.teamswift.net it has heaps of stuff on these engines and you should be able to find some answers there.

yer,went there for a visit.It was mostly 1300 stuff.

But It turns out this 8 valve engine Ive brought is carb'd. Should it make any difference? Will the injected manifolds still fit? I think Im just guna strip the 8 valve block/head and stick every thing form the 16 valve on it.
Does anyone dissagree?

Cheers Paul
