Pajero 3.5 Purchase

Post by Werner »

Hey guys, my mate has a 97 Pej 3.5 180000km, swb for sale. He bought himself a cruser, so paj is extra.

However it has idle issues surges at stand still, stalls at traffic light too, both of these are intermittent.

Is this an easy fix and a good buy?

Hey, Thanks for that. Will have a look, is the TPS difficult and expensive to replace?

Doesn't have a dizzy or rotor.

Try the idle stepper motor. They get gunked up and don't work as they should. Under the throttle body - take to it with carb cleaner.

Once you've pulled the idle control valve off, and cleaned it, check the coil resistance with a multimeter:

[ a ] [ b ] [ a ]
[ c ] [ d ] [ c ]

a-b, and c-d should be something like 27 - 33 ohms.

The idle stepper motors can get water in them too and rust out. There's three screws on the end of it you can remove and pull the end of off and have a look inside.

Mitzi agents is a good place to start. Hold on to your wallet!!!

Go to the private messages and edit your profile, put in the city or locale, make it easier to give advice as WHERE to look for stuff.
