TD27t- Fuel adjustment screw + boost relief valve, where??

Post by Damz »

As per title, have searched heaps cant find anything.

Sick of the "ch-chhh-chh-ch-chhh" noise when im at around 14psi, can someone please post a pic of the boost relief valve, if thats what its called...!!

Also looking to turn up the fuel a little, will be investing in the EGT gauge soon, cant wait.... Which screw is the right screw, and how much turning is needed at a time, 1/4, 1/2, full turn?

Sort of off topic but, I recently pulled the td27t out of my old stock navara and put it in my new one. Also added an intercooler + 3" exhaust.
Used to spool up to about 12psi then wastegate would open and all was well.
Now, it boosts right up to 14-15 psi until the cha-cha valve lets boost out. Almost seems like the wastegate is stuck or something? Or, will the mods somehow have affected the boost in which the wastegate opens? Any ideas on where to look, much appreciated!

Cheers!

The relief valve is on the intake manifold just behind where the intake pipe from the turbo goes into it.

Take it out and block it off. I got a large brass bung for mine, but I cannot remember the thread size sorry.
As for the fuel screw, I left mine up to the experts as no two fuel pumps are the same.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Yeah I shouldnt really play until I get an EGT gauge, but a little wont hurt, can always put it back afterwards. I mean, it is a nissan after all.... 8)

If you are real rough........smack the top of the mushroom with a big hammer, fcuks it up real good, never to work again.
EGT a good idea
Then if not already a boost gauge. Advise......don't go over 20psi, it shortens the life span of the turbo
I should know as mine just blew during the weekend....bugger.
Have just picked up a new/second hand one up to fit before the weekend :D

Cheers,
Simon Collett.

I do wonder about the futility of this question :?
But I will humour you.
The way that speeds the engine up  (out)
You will have to adjust the idle screw too.

This where I draw the line.
If you have to ask these questions, you shouldn't be there playing with them

Edit;
OOPS, must of got my pill bottles mixed up this morning, think I took a grumpy one by mistake

The fuel screw is under a cover, so sticky fingers can't get at it.
The idle screw is on top that stops the throttle arm returning too far.
Opposite it is the full speed screw, that should be lock wired off so NO adjustments can be made.

Cheers,
