Bent Radius Arm

Just wanting to know if my LJ71 radius arm can be straightened? bent prity good, but thought it may be able to be pressed straight?? or get a 2nd hand one? cheers

How bent is pretty bent?

They are pretty commonly bent a bit and normally just bung em in the press to straighten them..
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

Oh cool, Ill try grab a photo. Ill have a crack at straightening it 1st, Id read on here somewhere there prone to bending.

Do you mean the tie rod or relay rod?

used a 20ton press to straighten a safari one bit of strain but done it

Use your other good one as a template so they both end up the same as if you don't the castor may be effected.

Some say to heat it before you bend to reduce stress fractures....
Basically as hot as you can hold it.
But I never have and had no issues to date.

From what i've heard NO HEAT on toyota arms.. it'll fark em..and they will only bend sideways, if you try to straighten it up and down.. say good buy as it'll crack and or break..
I did a lot of research into yota arms as I had 2 bent ones and ended up replacing them for $75 each :mrgreen: :mrgreen: yea I know a steel.. :twisted:
