Easy Toyota Oil Question

Post by timmay556 »

Can someone please recomend me an oil to purchase to do the gear box and transfer case on my ln106 Hilux. Im a bit lost with it all. I heard somone talking about syntheic oil being better in the cold? That would be good as in Taupo we get -6 through the winter in the mornings.

Cheers

At work (Toyota dealership) we use Castrol oils.
So for the gearbox we use MUTLITRAX (SAE 80w90)
and for the transfer we use EPX 80w90.

You could use SYNTRAX 75w90 or VMX in both the gearbox and transfer also though.

Top man, I might just use the same oil in both to keep things simple.
