Terrano blowing alot of black smoke.
Bought a terrano thats blowing alot of black smoke, doesnt seem to be blwoing blue, but its using abit of oil aswel? its a td27t. How much would a set of rings cost if that is the prob?

Black smoke is unburnt diesel fuel. Either the fuel screw has been wound up in an effort to get more power, or the turbo is not producing the huff it once was or the most likely cause, is the injectors need looking at. You could minimise the amount black smoke being produced by turning the fuel screw down; but that would cause your engine to loose power and it is not fixing the problem, only fixing the symptom.

Exactly what i thought, im gonna get my mate to give it a rev and see i see any blue smoke in there, if not it might just be a leak. cheers
