help with diesel problem!

Post by pigklr »

had water go in my intake at low revs while driving through water. motor locked up. managed to slowly turn it over with quick turns of the key and got it started again. now when cold it smokes quite a bit and runs rough till it warms abit then its fine. cud it be a damaged glow plug or something else?

any help would be appreciated thanks

should have pulled the plugs then turned it over by hand, then turned it over with the starter motor, then put the plugs back in.

water does not compress, it only bends conrods and wrecks piston rings.

Usually water is gonna root your diesel engine eh. Change your plugs and see if you were lucky though, may have gotten away with it but I would guess its at least shortened its life.
