newbie to site lj78 2lte

Post by lj78 »

Howsit just introducing myself.
Up in auckland. Own a lj78 93 2lte land cruiser prado.
Getting new 2lte put in at the mo.
Got 2inch lift, tidy truck. happy as larry with it.
Just use it to go up muriwai and 90 mile, along with the quad bikes behind her on the trailler. So she does get a workout.

Would anyone know where to get a snorkel.
What sort of exhaust to go with for the 2lte.
I was thinking 3inch dump from turbo, 21/2 inch to rear?

Any input would be appreciated.
Ah one more thing. I can either put another 2lte or 5l in?
The 2lte has more torque tho?
Like is said any info will be greatly appreciated.
See YA...

1kz would be better if you want to stay diesel
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

Go the 5l! They are great motors and without a turbo they have similar power to the 2lt but way more reliable. However if you have an old 2lt lying around then chuck all the turbo gear on the 5l and you will have more than enough power.

x2 for the 5l. Avoid the 2lte if you can. 1kz's are great but no where near a straight bolt up and get prett expensive. Go the 5l and I think you'll find they have plenty of reliable power, you can always add a turbo or supercharger at a later date.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

x3 for the 5L, can get another 2LTE put in but how longs it going to last? another 50-100,000km. Might as well go with the 5L now rather than in a yr or so time doing it all again.
