Injection pump timing TD27

Post by sibainmud »

Hey,
Could anyone tell me the plunger stroke measurement on a TD27.
And the recommended method of finding the exact TDC.
I have a DTI gauge and the adaptor to fit to the pump, but don't have an engine manual to get this information.
I have a second hand turbo pump to fit to replace the N/A pump that is leaking. Picked it up on tard me for $51 and a spare turbo for $31   me so happy :D
If I get a manual, that's the only thing that I would need one for as being a mechanic everything else is just good assembly practices.
Cheers,
Simon.
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

I'm just having trouble believing the turbocharger can handle the 30psi?
Take it thats not stock turbo?
No doubts as to the td27 handling it, must go like a rocket compared to my slug!

Definitely not a stock turbo  Ball bearing custom one, I believe.
Not a stock fuel pump either
Not stock manifolds :P
Factory turbos can only produce 20-22 psi for a short time before Bang!

16-18 psi is quite safe......trust me, I know

Anyway, pump timing. Plunger stroke measurement is;
0.59+ or - 0.02mm (4deg BTDC).
Thanks to sandon for the link to the complete electronic manual :D

Have you played with advancing the timing on it. I would love to see the manifold you are running on that engine

Mine are stock. TD's intake not too dissimilar to yours
Just a custom exhaust manifold to put turbo on.

Yip, spill point tweaked. At standard idle stop, it would idle at 1200 rpm.
