Alpine Village Inn 4x4 Challenge and Tractor Pull (Hanmer)
Alpine Village Inn 4x4 Challenge and Tractor Pull (Hanmer)
We are running the Alpine Village Inn 4x4 Challenge and Tractor Pull at Pucker Park, Hanmer on Sunday 24th April (Easter Sunday). Given the time of year, we are expecting dryer conditions than our mudplug and so are setting new stages that will be as much of a test for the driver as the vehicle. We will have a good mix of technical driver stages along with some mud/boggy ones and at least one that will be a straight out test of your vehicle. It will be run under much the same format as last time with 10-12 stages in total. At least 5 stages in the morning, with a break for lunch when we will have the tractor pull demo and the remaining stages commencing after that. It will be a 10am start with scrutineering from 8.30am on the day and a plan to be finished around 4.30pm.
Spectators most welcome with food etc available. Entry for spectators is $10 per person or $25 for a family and under 5s free.
There will be 2 classes of vehicle;
1, Club Class; Road legal, maximum of 35 inch tyre
2, Outlaw Class, For anything that doesn't fit the above category
As there will be a variety of different vehicles in the same classes there will be a points system in place to help keep things even.
Entry for driver and optional navigator $40.
We will be donating half of all entry fees and 10% of the gatetakings to the Ch Ch Earthquake Appeal. So go on, you know how much fun you had last year and you want to do it again while supporting a great and worthy cause.
Anyone who is keen to help out with marshalling etc please let me know either via private message or email info@puckerpark.co.nz (you will be well looked after)
Entry forms etc will be available soon so check out our website http://www.puckerpark.co.nz. We look forward to seeing you there.

Give it a go. Its as much about having fun as it is about winning. They won't be anything dangerous and it's a great way to get some experience

Motorbike helmet is fine as long as it has no obvious damage, remember its your head in there.
As long as your tow hooks are mounted safely and securely ie they wont fly off if you need recovery.
A suitable rope or strop for recovery
And some attitude always helps

Sounds good, I have a front hook, think it is standard but it has held a bloody lot before, would it be ok or does it have to be a 'rated' hook?
When is the latest i can register by?
Re: Alpine Village Inn 4x4 Challenge and Tractor Pull (Hanmer)
It needs to be a rated hook ie it has a load rating stamped into it. Factory hooks wouldn't cut the mustard. You need to have one of these on the front and one on the back. You could register on the day if you need to but its easier for me if you register earlier

Hey Jase,
John Chapman here, Mark's son. I saw the stickers you'd left in the workshop when you were chucking the windows back in the roller for the old man, didn't know you part owned Pucker Park, might have to come up for a burn in the mud sometime!
I was waiting to come up with the Motosoc uni crew last year for the hammered in hanmer thing they do up there then it all got cancelled, council or something struck it down?
John

UniSoc were going to have a do at the park but that turned to custard after the Sept quake. Definitely recommend coming up, its a fun place to waste a day
