I was on a course in the States last year for work and one was demonstrated, was indeed fast cutting steel, ideal for urban search and rescue work for firefighters
They tried it on some alloy aircraft parts for us Airport firefighters present and it was a dismal failure but no real surprises there
took a couple of pics while I was there
