3b motor

Post by Whisperer »

What are you thoughts about it? Is it reliable, and is it very underpowered in a 70 series cruiser, more so than a 2.4ltr surf?

I haven't been able to find much info on it, it seems the 3bt is much better but it also costs more
Any opinions or experiences are welcome!

Cheers

The 3B is no powerhouse but it is a reliable, simple mill. Unlike the 2LT(E) the B series is a light truck motor so they will go forever if given standard maintainance.

It's turbocharged, direct injected brother 13B-T is the one to go for if you want power.

Ive had 2 3bs one standard and one with a aftermarket turbo, both engines just keept on trucking, the turbo is well worth the money(seen kits on trademefor $350 plus exhaust) never had to touch engines and they have no computers e,t,c, so you dont have to worry about it getting wet.
