Having massive trouble embedding the images - something about not being able to determine the image size... Haven't had this problem before... Will persevere.

Pics:

Churchill gobbled some water in here, and BigAl did a nice job of a dead weight recovery in 2WD. Solid. 4WD would just make it too easy eh?

Bit of time spent flushing out the cylinders. How's the engine now Churchill?

This is a public forum, and ANYONE can view the information you put on here. Lots of people look on ORE for places to 4wd in the auckland region, and some of these people will not respect the track, the neighbours, or quite frankly the law.

Most "paper" roads have been gated around auckland, and the few that remain i would hate to see gated as well, especially if it due to people being reckless.

I think the club trip is a great idea. The type of 4wder who joins a club, is usually a respectable and responsible driver. It is everyone else who reads this forum and goes for a "skid" themselves on the roads you mention on a later date.

Dont take all of this the wrong way :) it is a great idea to organise the trip, and i will definetly try to come along.

indeed. :D It hasn't been used for about a year I would say. In places you couldn't even see the track due to overgrown grass. Was just driving following the ruts.

I am thinking of doing an exploration up the dome sometime soon too. Find some new roads round there hopefully. Also looking at a Pouto weekend as well. and a track clearing day/weekend.

Cheers,

I've got quite a few clips but the issue is the size of everything. They range from 100MB to 1GB so its difficult to get files that size to another location hence why I've been putting them on dvd and giving it to those who want it. I should find out how to resize them and put them up but you loose the good quality if they're too small.

Give me a yell if you where there that day and want the clips on a dvd.

The truck seems to be back to full power but the idle's now rough, I need to do a compression test, check the plug condition
and make sure I don't have any silt in any sensors. Any thing else? Its strange as I think I went through a deeper puddle once before and never had this problem (Simon and Andy were there), I have cut the bumper back and I wonder if this allowed the water to get in faster. Either that or I was lucky last time...

Thanks Lincooln for organising a good day out! (Any luck with the springs?)

Great stuff.
I edit the raw footage and string together and save them in a smaller lesser format then upload to Utube. Then you can just embed or post a link to them on here
Thanks mate.
Cheers,
Simon.

Thanks for that tip about Movie Maker.

I do need a snorkle, I'm just adding it to my list of needs for that vehicle.

Glad to hear that it's running pretty much okay!
I'd pull the throttle body off and give it a damn good clean - especially the air bypass bits. Could be clogged a little bit maybe?
Perhaps pull the coil packs again and make sure everything is clean.
And make sure you do an oil change!
