My td27t terrano is making a bit of a racket, and have been told 2 replace tappets. But have also been told that they have hydraulic lifters instead??? I havnt a clue, so some input would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kezz.

Re: td27t. Tappets or liffters
Its a older design work horse style Diesel, so a fair bit of noise is normal.
The TD27t has solid lifters(sometimes called cam followers), push rods and adjustable tappets.
You can get all sorts of minor valve train issues that create noise, from sticking lifters to a worn rocker shaft.
If you aren't any good with tools, take it to a mechanic to get the rocker shaft checked and the valve clearances adjusted.
You might find the noise is just the injector pump

Thank you
. Does anyone also know what you torque the rocker arms to?
