The 2.5's are a bit gutless compared to the 2.8's.
Quite rare with the locker and manual, but seems a little overpriced for a high k's 2.5 IMHO.

But is the 2.5 alright for a SWB?

I realise it would be horrible in a LWB.

Also, are the 2.5's reliable? He wants to use it as his daily driver...

(Thanks for you input so far :D )

2.5's are known for leaking lots of oil all the time. Lots more than the 2.8. But it looks alright but seems overpriced a bit for a thrashed 4x4, well it looks like its been offroad before

Seems kind of pricey to me with the high ks and past abuse its probably taken.
I'm suprised you're not trying to force a lada on him... does he want a Swb paj or is he open to other stuff?

I've tried with the Lada's, but he wants something already modified for 4wding, and most Ladas for sale are still standard

He is open to anything, as long as it is reliable, not too expensive to run and all that sort of stuff you want with a daily driver

So the leaking isn't too much of a problem... unless you have a white driveway
