25 - 27 March 2011
The Safari will tour through blocks of the Waimamaku west coast area with incredible views and interesting experiences across farms, rivers and mud tracks
The organizers endeavor to present you with a safari designed as a family affair, with enough interest to keep the more adventurous entertained
Shiny and tuff truck tracks are separated and join for lunch around a river site
The base camp is set up at the Waiotemarama complex, full camping facilities available
Limit of 60 vehicles
$150 driver and 1 passenger (non refundable)
Extra passengers $40
Children (under 14) $25
Including breakfast on Saturday & Sunday and dinner Saturday night
A packed lunch can be ordered for Saturday. (See order form for more details)
All drivers must be affiliated with the NZFWDA
For non-members, there is a weekend membership available
$30 to be paid to the Kauri Coast 4WD Club

Dear participant
We would like to invite you to take part in our fundraising event, which will be held on the weekend of the 25th till 27th March 2011.
The Safari will tour through blocks of the Waimamaku west coast area with incredible views and interesting experiences across farms, rivers and mud tracks.
Refueling garage, 4square and café at Waimamaku Township.
The organizers endeavor to present you with a safari designed as a family affair, with enough interest to keep the more adventurous entertained. Shiny and tuff truck tracks are separated and join for lunch around a river site.
If the weather conditions are unsuitable changes to the itinerary may be made at the discretion of the organizers.
The base camp is set up at the Waiotemarama complex.
Camp area onsite with facilities available from Friday late afternoon
Full licensed bar available (NO DRINKING AND DRIVING POLICY)

We are offering spaces on a first in first served basis and limited to 60 vehicles. A full payment of a $150.00 will secure your place at this event fundraiser. Driver and 1 passenger (non refundable) Extra passengers $40.00 children under 14 - $25.00
Included in that price we will provide you with breakfast on both mornings and an evening meal on Saturday.

All drivers must be a current member of a 4WD club, affiliated with the NZFWD Association
For non-members of an associated 4wheel drive club there is a weekend membership of $ 30.00 to be paid to the Kauri Coast 4 wheel drive club.
This allows only 1 designated driver.
When returning your form please ensure you have read and signed the hazards identification and indemnity forms.

All participants (including passengers are asked to read and comply with this notice to ensure the requirements of the Health and Safety in employment Act 1992 are met.
Safety requirements
 All shiny trucks must have a current rego and warrant of fitness
 Tow balls removed
 First aid kit
 Fire extinguishers 2 @ 1 kg or 1 @ 2 kg (in working order)
 Spade or shovel
 Rated recovery ropes or snatch straps.
 All vehicles needed to be fitted with rated tow hooks.
 Open top vehicles need to be fitted with a roll cage.
Tracks
The safari runs over working farms, forest blocks, public land and highways. These are inherently dangerous places with all manner of hazards so please be cautious.

Has anyone had any response back from the Organisers of this event yet? I booked back in January and have not heard a thing.

Is it still on?

Where exactly is the Waiotemarama complex? My guess is maybe somewhere near Waimamaku township OR maybe up Waiotemarama Falls road somewhere but I'm not certain.

Considering it is on this weekend it seems fairly slack not sending out some info by now.

Travel
From Auckland there are two ways to come to our event

1st Over Whangarei , Kawakawa, Kaikohe Opononi ,Omapere and follow the direction towards Waipua forest
(Waimamaku). You will see the Waiotemarama complex on your right hand site.

2nd or you turn of to Dargaville towards Waipua forest follow direction of Opononi you reach the Waimamaku Township you will see the complex on the left hand site.
Camping available from Friday lunchtime
Scruteneering on arrival

Saturday
Breakfast between 7.00 and 8.00 am
Briefing
Leaving around 9.30 am
Lunchtime will be between 12.30 and 1.30 pm
Afternoon part of the trip
Arrive back at the complex between 4.30 and 5 .00 pm
Bar open
Time for shower cleanup and social time
Dinner at 7.30 pm
After function with raffles

Sunday
Breakfast between 7.00 and 8.00 am
Briefing
Leaving around 9.30 am
Return to camp around 12.30 pm
Cleanup and home time
