Vr4 powered hilux.

Post by Crash bandicoot »

The missus wants to sell her vr4 galant.

I was thinking i might buy it and strip it down for parts.

would a 6a12tt (2litre v6 twin turbo) bolt to a 4wd L200 gearbox
as my 3vz toyota v6 is well... fucked really.

I'm not looking forward to rebuilding it as the missus vr4 had new turbos and cam belt etc 15K ago.

and it produces a bucket load more power then the old yota v6 ever will and probably use half the gas in the process.

any one know?.

I would say the early VR4 (4g63) would bolt to a L200 gearbox as the L200 came out with the N/A 4g63. There are a few of those around I hae seen - well the 2wd versions anyway. Is this for a 2wd or 4wd ute? Talking with someone else isnt the front output on a mitsi off to the left?

That's why I'd thought i would ask around.

Its a Ln130 surf that's had the 3vz conversion done to it but the motor is knackered smokes rattle's leaks etc.

The vr4 engine is a great power plant, but just want to know if it is do-able first.

Im not worried about mounts exhausts intakes etc as the turbo's will be facing front wards if it does go in the hilux.

the major is

A finding a 4wd box to bolt it too and
B as you say transfer offset to the right side.

The 6A series do not bolt to the 6G series, Pajero are G series engines as are the GTO's.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
