Garmin GPS & Nzgpsmaps

Post by wjw »

Hi All,

I need to buy another GPS after having my last 3 stolen. Does anyone have a late model Garmin GPS that is running a copy of Brents NZ GPS Maps? I need to find one his maps work on, that are currently available for purchase.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Pressy,

Unfortunately Brent passed away last year, hence the post above.

Cheers,

Try http://nzopengps.org/ if you are after roadmaps, They are free and are updated weekly. There are also some useful POI (points of interest - speedcam, DOC campsites, UHF repeaters etc)) files available in the forum section. All are intended for use with Garmin GPS.

Bill are you talking hand held or vehicle GPS, I have a Garmin hand held 60CSX that has Brents Maps on a Micro SD card.

Brent's daughter was working on keeping his maps up to date and working and will probably know which GPS are suitable. I will check and get back to you.

Unfortunately / fortunately not - think there's about 5 GB's so would quickly chew through your data allowance for the month!

You can send me an sd card if you want and I'll copy them across for you
