I'll try to explain..

When you hit a big bump your shock will travel down quickly (which is what it is suppose to do) then rebound slowly(again what it's suppose to do) Here is the "barry crocker" when you are hitting bumps at speed.. you need to give your shock time to recover from impact so if you were to run 2 shocks you would essentially end up racheting down onto the bumpstops as the shock won't recover to there full extent and every bump you hit just makes the shock compress again.. until there is nothing to compress..
