Ok so the wife took the zook for a blast out in the country today and when she got up to 80kph she said it was farting and starving for fuel, so i went and got a new fuel filter ( had these sort of syptoms before and was a $5.00 fix ),I chucked the new filter in tonight and now it idles a 2500 WTF is going on? got me beat -Im no mechanic Al
Strip and clean the carby, staving will it being full of crap and it prob been ajusted up and up to sort it. Maybe, or theres a vacum hose witha hole in it.
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed
Get a can of engine start With the engine running selectively spay it at a vacuum line , vsv Valves etc. If their is a leak the engine should pick up in revs when you spray the right area.
Other things to check is the one way valve into the brake booster That the acelerator cable isn't Jamed and not allowing proper idle or that the the egr valve is jammed open or vapor canister blocked.
Down load the FSM from suzukiinfo.com will give you all the tests for all the carb and vacuum components.most are easy to diagnosis
All good advice here, I've noticed my motorbikes often idle high when the fuel is running out, so it sounds like fuel starvation is probably causing all your problems. Not that hard to take the carb moderately apart and just clean everything out with some clean petrol. Good luck!
Ok, took zook to a mates place (thanks Kev) and he showed me how to strip and clean a carb.Chucked it back in and its like a new machine! ,also discovered the previous owner has put a different carb on it as im sure Samurai''s arnt twin throat .Glad i didn't have to take it to the shop $$ as its coming out next month to put the Vitara in ( anyone after a good nick g13b?)
