Hi all,
House got trashed in the earthquake so we've decided to buy a campervan and bugger off round the country for a few months so I need to sell the faithful old 60 unfortunately.
WOF and reg, RUC up to date.
3B in great condition, starts and runs great, cruises 80-100ks and is getting 10-11ks per litre of diesel on a run, about 7 round town. Nice 3" exhaust, front end rebuilt just after I bought it so all new driveshafts, bearings, bushes etc. so drives really nice. Recent service engine oil, gbox, transfer and diffs, filters. I've done very little off-roading in it as I had a 40, previous owner used it as a trip truck in the Canterbury Recreational 4wd club so not much tough use I'd say but the usual bush rash along the sides which I'd started to polish out, odd small dent here and there. Only things wrong are the usual wear on driver's seat and a bit of a whine in 4th and 5th gear.
Tiny amounts of surface rust here and there but no major rot at all, really pretty good condition for an '83. Done about 310,000ks so just getting nicely run in.
Has a set of near new 33 Mudstars on it but will come with 7.5x16 SATs unless the price is right as the tyres cost me a grand not long ago.
Looking for offers at this stage, 4k or thereabouts but these trucks do seem to be coming up in price. Good solid big trip truck, tough as anything and great as an adventure wagon. Big enough to sleep comfortably in the back.
I'll hold off Trademe for a few days to see if there's any interest on here.
BJ60 reluctant sale
Re: BJ60 reluctant sale
Forgot to say I do have a snorkel for it, 3" ( I think) steel tube, just needs bolted back on and one of those plastic hat things.
Also have a Schwitzer turbo on a 3B manifold which I might let go if new owner is interested in buying it. I'd prefer to keep the roof racks.

Why not keep the 60 as a tow wagon and buy a caravan instead of a camper. Best of both and cheaper too...

Yeah I had thought of that Muddy, the 60 doesn't pull the best up hills as it is so adding another 7-800kgs I'd be a bit worried about it. Caravans don't seem noticeably cheaper than campers either oddly but maybe I'll have another look. In the mean time it's still for sale, open to sensible offers.

Chuck a ct26 off a 13bt on it and it will hardly even know its towing a caravan. we've turboed our 60 and with three mtrs of firewood on the back you hardly notice it
Then when you get to town you can park up the caravan and you've got something a bit easier than a camper to find a park for.
