Series 2 diff heads

Series 2 diff heads
I have 2 diff heads from the series 2 I had, are they any use to anyone? or are they better used for scrap metal now. I think they are 4.7 ratio.

Mmmm, could do with a couple of Mantle oarnaments as Id never need them cos they never break

Different ratio, Rangies are 3.5:1

Different ratio, Rangies are 3.5:1
Which would be a good thing with running taller tyres.
Can any one confirm they are a direct swap for the RR diffs. Rover newbie here

They are much lower, you'd need hooooge tyres to warrant that low, I had a rangie for a short time with LR diffs, it was ooober low. I think most would say the RR ones are stronger too.

3.5:1s have bigger pinion. They will go in a Rangie, but if running large wheels you'll bust them, spider pin and carrier are pathetic. I installed an ARB mainly for the strength of carrier and being 2 pin. Have only shat one ring and pinion since. Use a Salsbury for rear.

Cheers Glen , So too low for running 33 inch tyres? Is a daily driver on 30s at the moment.
It is hard to compare as I am only used to hilux ratios where I am running 4.88 diffs with 35s.

Yea, the oz guys seem to run 4.1's with 35 inch tyres and it brings it back about right.
The RR's and later LR's all run the 3.54 ratio and the different ratios for tyre sizes are done within the transfer case, the high range is not a straight 1:1 like Hilux.
