Few fords and the Okuku river. You could do it in a hatchback if the river is low. If you want to go thru to Harwarden then you need permission from McDonald Downs. On a scale of 1 - 5 Id say its a .5!! Unless the Okuku is up then it can get inpassible.

My wife was keen to do this track in a few weeks (the weekend after Easter weekend).
Might have another truck that maybe able to come as well.
Any ideas on when you were going to do it?

I would keep away from that area the weekend of the 7th/8th as it is the opening of the Gamebird season, could be a few Hunters about.

You're not suggesting that hunters would mistake a 4WD for a gamebird?

 , I know what you mean about the eyesight, as for some of the Hunters -------I've seen the way they handle guns and some shouldn't have them. My biggest concern is making the Geese a pest you will now have idiots using high power rifles to shoot them  ,

DON'T GET ME STARTED.

might not mistake a truck for a game bird but if a whole pack of trucks are driving though a nicely set up area with mimi's and decoys that the guy has been working on all year and looking forward to for months you may find a few speed holes in ya trucks

Re: Lees Valley Fundraiser Tour - Sunday 17th April

Post by NZJeep »

There is a fundraiser tag along tour on this Sunday (now postponed till the 1st May) for those that are interested. It is for support of the St Georges Hospital Cancer Trust.

Meeting: 10am at the start of the Lees Valley Road.

The day will take in Ashley Gorge Farm and Okuku Downs Station. (So not your usual Lees Valley trip.) Great views guaranteed.

Cost is $20 per head.

Going to a great cause.

Not 100% sure but believe a member if the Suzuki Club has been involved in organising it and the Jeep club have been asked to assist on the day

Not sure of any other details other than what has been posted. Should be a fairly tame trip being a tag along tour. Dont quote me on this but wouldn't believe there would be any specific requirements regarding truck setup.

Shows how much some people know - I guess if its not bush bashing or mindlessly trying to get stuck in the Waimak then it isn't worth a look a Wayne?

Isn't being organised by the Jeep Club, they are merely helping out for a good cause.
