TRIP TIME!!!

Post by mudnutz »

Okay ive waited long enough. Its been too long so now its MUD TIME! About time we got some trips going, waste of time having 4WDs if we dont use them so lets get out and get dirty! Suggestion..... heaps of different tracks in the Akas, for all types of trucks so lets get off our asses and do them! :D

Akas was just a suggestion, surely people know of other places to go as well. We need to get more trips going to keep people keen.

how far you wanna travel

locally we can go to the usual haunts.............

akas, rallys, odlins, red rocks, ocean beach, sutherlands track

but if you are looking to cruise out of town again then the options are endless.....................

pureora forest, minginui, maratoto-wires-stadia etc etc

and then theres also still a heap of safari tag a long trips happening around the traps, you mentioned a taihape trip haynzy, we could save you the hassle of organising when theres a fundraiser on in 2 weeks in the area

the possibilities are endless, we just have to decide what type of vehicle we are catering for and then see how many folks actually want to go and how many are going say they will be there and then pull out with only days to go

but seriously if you are looking for something to cater for all types of trucks doing different tracks then you really can't look past the Akas

my ones an overnighter with good social times and then the driving is no stress play or sight see sorta style and at $20 bucks for the trip with two nights accom in the shearers quarters its a cheap one for those countin their dough.
certainly not 5 hours drivin in 2wd drive then a couple of mud holes

Depends on where you go in from. I can get permission to access that area for 4 wheel driving and up into the Tararua's that is over private property. In fact, I will be doing a quad ride into there in the next week or 2 to suss out track conditions. If anyone is interested in another trip into this area (and the last one was pretty good) then post up your interest and lets know, because it will only be a small group of up to 6 capable vehicles. http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... &sk=t&sd=a :D

A new thread relating to the Tararua's trip this Sunday April 3rd is here; http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... =9&t=25143

At this stage there is room for 2 more vehicles. If any changes will update post on above thread.
