4wd garage in AUckland

Post by SP450andLE »

I need to find a 4wd-savvy garage in Auckland. North Shore would be great, but wider Auckland is fine too. The Lada needs the brakes worked over, and I really only want to take it somewhere I know is decent.

I have given up on Motortech 4x4, they have strated to be a bit too picky, and one of them basically started hating on me for having a Lada, that isn't in the best of conditions. But thats what happens when you mix poor Uni students and a love of vehicles

Chur.

Interesting....
someone is being picky over a particular vehicles brakes, you would prefer someone to be relaxed over how they work :?
You need a 4wd specialist to look at the lada even though the lada set up is essentially the same as any older style 2wd vehicle (disc up front, drum rear)?
You couldnt ring around instead of starting another thread?

Not being picky about the brakes. More about the non-existent air-bag light in our Renault.

I would like a 4wd specialist, because I hope to carry on going to the new place I find, and figured it would be better to have a 4wd specialist take care of the Lada, rather than somebody who really only knows about cars.

So I'm sorry for asking people's opinions on a good place to go to. Maybe I'll just not bother finding out and take it to the cheapest place possible, and have an accident due to unsafe repairs.

HOW DOES THAT SOUND :?: :!:

Have you guys had work done through them?

They must be the relatively new workshop opposite Tyrecorp?

Being a local I'm interested in hearing what feedback you have on them.

try something radical like having a go at fixing it yourself. A lada is hardly a piece of Hi tech engineering. How hard can it be?

Hard enough for someone who has to clean the windows in a primary school, do a whole digital media assignment, write a 1500 word ethics essay and do an image and sound assignment all within the two weeks of holidays. - Time is even tighter afterwards.

So I'm thinking I would like to get it done once, and done right.
