removing tie rod ends, terrano

Post by u13turbo »

Trying to get the tierods off the draglink, just to replace my draglink, I've fucked the little boots on the tierods with a splitter tool and the still havnt even split. Is there an easier way? bloody great cos its ended up costing me more, i'll need new tie rods....

You should be able to buy the boots.
Toy - Zuk chassis tub, hilux 4.88 axles and transfer, Nissan CA18DE motor and auto trans, sc12 supercharger, 32 10'5 simex, twin motor 8274 custom freespool. Well the parts are all there in various corners of the shed

The boot is there to hold the grease in so would say you'll need new ones. Wouldn't have thought they'd be too expensive.

That's what these bad-boys are for, popping tie rods and ball joints without rooting the boots or the nut threads.

Takes about 10 mins to change a tie-rod end
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
