well this was the plan when i brought it:

fix rust
get upto wof standerd and get vtnz wof.
new mags and tyres
4 hunting spotlights mounted on roofbar
repaint whole suzuki
hippo line the inside
new bucket seats in front
winch
2" lift
engine transplant along with gearbox

and this is what i have done so far:

repaired all the rust
took for a wof at vtnz failed with a big long list, spent a good couple of weeks on it then took it in again and bam a brand new vtnz wof

today i have started to strip the suzuki down so i can paint it

here are some pictures:

Looks like a top job. You're not farking about are you? You realise that the average build time on here is 7.8 months (okay I made that up) so you will have to slow down or risk the wrathe of the Ole timers.

If you can, get some 413 diffs under there at the same time, the 410 stuff will struggle with that sort of power in front (it will all bolt in if you use 413 flanges on the t/c and 413 drivehsafts.
Or run birfield rings on the cvs. My old 410 survived with a gti engine infront of it all and just birfield rings. That was about 8 years of club stuff and club trials

If ya running 31's, you need to sort the gearing out before more power, or you will just end up toasting clutches.

410 transfer case minimum, dont put in the 413 it would be a waste of time, just change the 413 flanges to your 410 box or since its already a 1984 and probably has the very sort after box with shift light use your 410 and the 413 to make a rockhopper 8) then chuck on some 32s :D 8)

Someone else on here will know the details better than I do, but combining the 410 and 413 transfer case gears gives you a 4:1 low ratio and something like a 1.2:1 high ratio - which you will need to allow for the increased gearing of the bigger tyres.

As regards open road speed - I fitted a 16v G16A vitara engine into an early Samurai (same diff ratio as 413) and flat deck 410 transfer case and there was no problem doing 100km/h and more.

The problem was with the 31" muds, worn steering joints, flogged out suspension bushes and original brakes all trying to keep it under control at that speed...
