Post by vvilly »

Ive toyed with the idea if putting a 105e cab onto a blizzard chassie with hilux diffs and a few other bits and bobs.

here are the dimensions and wheel base of both vehicles.
whats peoples thought on this one?

1959 Ford Anglia 105E dimensions & weight
Wheelbase 2300 mm 90.6 in
Track front 1168 mm 46 in
rear 1162 mm 45.7 in
Length 3900 mm 153.5 in
Width 1435 mm 56.5 in
Height 1441 mm 56.7 in

1984 Toyota Blizzard 2400 Diesel DX dimensions & weight
Wheelbase 2200 mm 86.6 in
Track front 1320 mm 52 in
rear 1300 mm 51.2 in
Length 3650 mm 143.7 in
Width 1580 mm 62.2 in
Height 1830 mm 72 in

It would be AMAZING!!

But maybe a bit hard to do, unless you have all the fabrication skills.

Go for it!

I say go for it :D , it would be relatively straight forward and something different. Cool idea Jase.

Maybe all the wiring etc, but IDK if the anglia would be able to accommodate the Blizzard wiring...

And I also thought maybe actually mounting the body. But I'm not sure about that.

Just don't listen to me.

105's have a really small engine bay with an odd angled firewall, it wont be impossible but may be difficult, also the 2l motor will be higher than the 997cc powerhouse it came out with.....

but if i am pitting it onto a full chassie i could cut back the fire wall. the Anglia wont need the McPherson strut towers etc so that would widen up the bay and was thinkin of a 5l

cutting out fire wall drasticly reduces foot room in these old beasts

Would be copoler with a Hungry E body on it (100E Prefect)
The rounded shape is more retro imho.

I have an old rally car that started life as one of these.
Parts of the body shell and some of the rear springs are the only thing 100E about it now.

Go for it. You will learn lotas and it will be cool!

Gotta say I always liked the Hungry E (my first car) more than the 105. The 105 always reminded me of a pair of horn rimmed glasses.

It would look very cool but if you are doing this as a first project wouldn't it be better to first try it out on a more common body, the Anglia's must be relatively rear by now. How about something like a Mazda 121 body, cheap as chips

I have a Suzuki Swift GTI ex rally car sitting here and a Suzuki Sj413 and was going to do likewise but funds are short so it wont be happening.Im very jealous, I really like the idea of the Anglia 8) it will have some Ford purists cringing
