Suzuki V8 why didnt they make it

Apparently suzuki toyed with a v8 some years back. 1650ish cc's would have been a screamer. Why didnt they go through with it?

It was a concept in one of their concept cars.

Bugger a light screaming v8 would be cool!!!!!
